The program is built around high-quality mentoring. In addition to completing routine training components, successful applicants work closely with one or more of the program staff. Fellows have access to regular seminars in research ethics, bioethics theory, and health policy and present their work at an annual fellows meeting. Practicum opportunities include internships.
The program has been open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents with a solid academic disciplinary background in health care, science, social sciences, or humanities. A strong emphasis is placed on academic rigor, methodological competence in interdisciplinary research and communications skills.
